He carried out research on the vitellin during oogenesis, embryonic and larval development in the Pacific oyster, the biochemical variations in Pacific oyster gonadal tissue, and the accumulation and depuration of tributyltin oxide and its effect on the fertilization and embryonic development in the Pacific oyster.
His current research interest is the induction of haploid androgenesis by UV irradiation and the rapid isolation and characteristic analysis of microsatellite clones in the Pacific oyster.
